Glide Through the Grossarl Valley
Cross-country skiing brings you closer to nature
When the snow has fallen and the Grossarl Valley looks like a scene typical of a winter postcard, this is the best moment for cross-country skiers to strap on their skis and embrace the tranquillity of the winter wonderland on the 30km-long cross-country skiing track. Classically prepared with a partial skating lane, the track begins in Grossarl and leads you along the river towards Hüttschlag. The Aschaustüberl inn in Hüttschlag has a 3km-long illuminated track which can be used at night. You can access it on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 6pm and 8:30pm. There is also a cross-country ski school in the area for you to use, whether you are a beginner or whether you just want to improve your technique.
